Lee-Anne is a Trans Woman, a Business woman, a parent of 2 awesome kids and a community leader. She is a passionate person to the Trans and Gender diverse community.

Leadership

  • Lee-Anne is the founder and leader of the Be True 2 Me non-profit organization. An organisation established to support Trans and Gender Diverse People, be they Trans, Non-Binary, Intersex or questioning.
  • She is also the director of her IT company, providing IT Consultation and Services.
  • Lee-Anne is a member of WPATH & TPATH international organisations.

Experience

  • Professionally Lee-Anne is a senior IT Consultant; working mainly with large corporates, with 30+ years of experience including SME, Government (National and Provisional), Corporates.
  • She has worked in various business verticals with diverse people within South Africa, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and beyond.
  • Lee-Anne has 30+ years of community work experience, working with NP O’s on the ground to regional director level.
  • She has managed people both as staff in her own business ventures and volunteers in community work.
  • Lee-Anne has 30+ years’ experience in working with groups of people, small groups and in tiered structures.
  • She transitioned into womanhood, a journey which is never complete, meeting most of her key goals.
  • To up skill her knowledge in the trans and gender diverse space, Lee-Anne has attended many community events, sessions in human rights space and is networking with various organisations.
  • Lee-Anne has studied the ins and outs of Hormone Replacement Therapy and partakes in many online forums with years of research, personal experience and engaging with medical professionals working with Trans individuals.
  • Lee-Anne is involved in civil society, including working with the Dept of Basic Education Social Inclusion working committee.
  • Part of Lee-Anne’s advocacy work for the trans and gender diverse community is to educate and create awareness in the media such as TV, radio, newspaper/sites and Social Media.
  • Lee-Anne is in process of being a certified WPATH professional having attended 2018 International WPATH Symposium also attending the WPATH GEI training program.

Passion

  • Lee-Anne’s daily joy and drive is for her teenage son and daughter.
  • Lee-Anne is driven to help trans people to transition, get legal recognition of their change and to walk alongside those in transition. Anyone who wants to be just themselves…
  • Her passion is also extended to train trans and medical professionals in safe, modern transition practices.
  • Lee-Anne is still a geek at heart and tries to keep up to date with new technology and exciting developments.
  • Being a driven Trans Woman with a passion to advise and assist, to educate and lead, Lee-Anne’s contribution to the Trans and Gender diverse community is remarkable
